Tough Kid Challenge Flyer

The Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge (TKC) is not your average Saturday morning – it's a thrill-packed obstacle course extravaganza and a super-fun fundraiser for the Appleton Area School District's physical education department! Last week, the Appleton Area School District Board of Education proudly adopted a resolution proclaiming May 5–9, 2025, as AASD Staff Appreciation Week—a dedicated time to recognize the exceptional commitment our staff have shown to students, schools, and the broader community throughout the 2024–2025 school year

Music Teacher

Our 2nd and 3rd graders were excited to welcome a fantastic guest music teacher. Joe Santonato took the time to share stories about his family from Sicily, which really tied in nicely with what the kids have been learning about Sicilian folk songs in music class.

As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, it’s tempting to ease up on school routines. Spring fever sets in, and students (and sometimes parents) may start to feel less motivated to maintain strong school attendance. However, consistent attendance remains just as important in the final months of the school year as it is at the beginning.

BFK Museum

The 3rd graders visited the Building for Kids Children's Museum to explore the different food groups, how food impacts our mind and body, and how we access food.

Butter

Our awesome 2nd grade students celebrated the end of their “American West” language arts module by having a pajama day and making some delicious homemade butter.

Ramen

Our awesome 5th graders hit their goal of 10,000 Dojo points, and to celebrate, they enjoyed a delicious Ramen Lunch! Great job, 5th graders! Keep shining and doing amazing things!

Book Fair

Badger had an amazing time at the Scholastic Book Fair! THANK YOU to all who shopped at the fair! Because of your generosity, over $1,400 in new books were donated to our classrooms and school library!

We encourage your students to share safety concerns with a trusted adult or, when needed, use SUSO to confidentially report issues that affect their well-being. SUSO’s Resource Center operates 24/7, ensuring every report is taken seriously

Strings

The Badger 5th grade orchestra had an amazing time teaming up with string students from seven AASD elementary schools at the West Side Strings Workshop!

FFVP

Badger students get to enjoy a different fresh fruit or vegetable every day, all thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

Planetarium

Our fantastic 3rd graders had a wonderful time at the Barlow Planetarium! They explored the incredible worlds of planets and constellations together!

STEM

Badger students have been having a blast with the Engineering Design Process in STEM! They've been putting their imaginations to work, planning, and creating awesome solutions to real problems.

Holiday Boutique

Students got the chance to pick out two special gifts for their family members at a delightful Holiday Boutique. The gifts were wrapped up beautifully by a team of special elves.

Tableau Thumbnail

Our awesome 3rd grade students had a fantastic time blending the arts with their “Circle of Life” science unit! They learned how to make amazing tableaus that showcase the life cycles of animals and plants.

Elks Hoop Shoot Participants

Congratulations to the participants and winners of the Elks Hoop Shoot Competition held at Badger Elementary School! Each contestant has to shoot a total of 25 free throws. The contestant in each age group that makes the most free throws wins the competition.

Our wonderful kindergarten teacher, Ms. Mayer, was nominated for the 2024 TDS Wisconsin Most Valuable Educator Award.

Robert Battle visits Badger School

Robert Battle (dancer, choreographer, former Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Lawrence University’s inaugural Creator in Residence) visited our 1st and 3rd grade students!
