Appleton Public Library Summer Library Program

Badger families are invited to participate in the Appleton Public Library Summer Library Program. Students have the opportunity to improve their reading skills while earning prizes. 

The program runs from June 10 to August 11.  Registration is open now at www.apl.org/summer. 

Students can return the registration form to the Badger School library, the Appleton Public Library or register online. 

Reading, activities, and events can be tracked online or on a paper log or both. 

There are four different age categories for each member of the family: 


BABIES* (Birth - 36 months)

Track time spent Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing to earn participation prizes, stamps, a FREE book, and a chance for a grand prize. 


KIDS* (Birth to 7th grade) 

Track your Reading, Creating, and Exploring each week to earn a participation prizes, stamps, a FREE book, and a chance for a grand prize. 


TEENS (6th grade - college freshman)

Log at least 2 hours of reading each week to earn a weekly participation prizes, stamps, and a chance for a grand prize. 


ADULTS (18+ years) 

Read, Create, or Engaging in a community event to earn prizes and a chance for a grand prize. 


*The Early Bird week in the Babies and Kids programs allows you to start on June 3.

Important Dates

May 1 - Registration Opens

June 3 - KIDS & BABIES Early Bird participation begins

June 10 - Official Start of 2018 Summer Library Programs: start logging your reading and activities

August 11 - Official end of program: last day to log reading/activities

August 17 - Last day to pick up weekly prizes and submit Grand Prize drawing tickets

August 24 - Grand Prize Drawings for All Programs: winners will be contacted by phone or email. 

All prizes must be picked up in person at Appleton Public Library. Staff will ask for your Library Card or photo ID when picking up larger prizes. You must be registered to win; prize slips drawn for unregistered participants will be discarded.
